BenQ Projectors

BenQ

A multinational Taiwanese company, BenQ is no stranger to the tech industry. Having been a producer of thin-film technology products including high-end projectors and TVs since the 90s, BenQ has come a long way since its first line of products was released under BenQ-Siemens. BenQ has had tough competition with other companies like the juggernaut Epson, but their line of projectors has come a long way for business presentation use, gaming, and home cinema. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at BenQ’s many series of projectors and breaking them down based on features, benefits, and their competition.

Main Features

For a long time, BenQ sold conventional DLP projectors that came with their positives and few negatives, most notably the rainbow effect. However, today BenQ has a line of laser projectors and DLP models with top-of-the-line features such as HDR PRO technology for the ultimate cinematic experience, delivering high dynamic range visuals true to the source.

On UHD laser TV projectors, the newly introduced filmmaker mode preserves every last visual and audio detail of a film or TV show that filmmakers envisioned. Modern BenQ projectors even have LAN control and connectivity to connect a projector to a laptop with ease. This helps in centralizing your screening room’s sound and image. The latest series of laser projectors also include an Android TV operating system that allows you to view content from more than a dozen streaming platforms.

BenQ smart projectors offer wireless options to connect to phones, laptops, and other devices through the use of Bluetooth. If you use an iPhone, then you can use AirPlay to connect to the projector and cast your screen. BenQ’s line of Mini Smart Portable Projectors is an example of BenQ’s willingness to change the age-old body of a projector, making it a more convenient size for household and outdoor use without sacrificing visual or audio quality.

Image Quality

When it comes to image quality, BenQ offers some of the best home theater experiences in the world. With their modern CinePro Series projectors coming with 4K UHD quality, the resolution is high and crystal clear allowing for almost no pixel blur. The DCI-P3 CinematicColor technology in this series showcases rich, accurate, and bright visuals along with the options for personal color calibration. This series has even been certified by the THX film company for its high standards in visuals.

The BenQ 4K laser TV projector is far brighter and richer in color than many other projectors available on the market. The HDR PRO technology keeps the original dynamic colors of its source video or image, along with UHD 4K quality. Unlike the CinePro Series of projectors, the laser TV projector has stand-out audio with 2 built-in virtual surround speakers that employ acoustic and psycho-acoustic sciences to balance sound qualities. Needless to say, BenQ has been avidly trying to better the home theater experience with their projectors in every way.

Price

BenQ’s prices aren’t as affordable as other companies, with the lowest price of a modern 4K UHD home theater projector at $1,699 and going up to a whopping $8,999. The prices for portable projectors range from $499 to $799. While not the best quality, their CineHome series of projectors, offering 1080p quality, are more affordable, with the prices ranging from $640 to $1,199. However, given the technological advances in BenQ’s projectors, some may not mind the steep prices.

Build Quality

Most BenQ projectors are quite sturdily built and highly durable. However, some lower-end projectors may suffer from lens issues over time and loud fans.

Conclusion

Overall, BenQ has a lot to choose from. Their willingness to adapt to the times even after 3 decades in the game is quite admirable. Whether you need something for basic business presentations or want a fancy home theater setup, BenQ gives it to you in large and small designs. Having fair competition with only one other company, Epson, BenQ is quite an impressive company considering they produce numerous other products beyond projectors.
