Polk Audio was founded in 1972 by two friends named Matthew Polk and George Klopfer in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. With a shared passion for high-quality audio, they set out to create audio systems that offered exceptional sound at affordable prices. Combining their expertise in audio engineering and technology, they embarked on a journey to design and manufacture products that would stand out for their quality and performance. 
The first product introduced by Polk Audio was the Monitor 7 speakers. These speakers, utilizing innovative technologies and distinct designs, delivered high-quality, clear sound that garnered significant acclaim. This initial product marked the beginning of Polk Audio's success story, establishing the brand as a leader in the industry and earning it a reputation for excellence.
